Sony Handycam, imovie and import problems.

A Sony Handycam and iMovie is not the best combination. But it can be done.

First get MPEG Streamclip

go List, bact list -

select the files

Select Export to DV – I do not check any of the other items here, I just click OK.

Select folder

Now comes a LOT of options. If you know the right ones let us know. I use DV25 under compression – I think this is what Sony uses as compression. I use PAL 720×576, 25 fs. because the original material is 25 fs. I use 16:9 aspect ratio.
